Restore the wood.
Don't blast it.No splinters.

Gentle cleaning for pressure-treated pine, cedar, redwood, composite, and vinyl — removes gray weathering and mildew without raising fibers. The right prep if you're about to stain.

What's included

Three steps. Zero etching.

Too much pressure, or pressure applied against the grain, absolutely will damage wood — forever. We use the right pressure, the right tip, and always go with the grain. A properly cleaned deck looks better than new without a single raised fiber.

01

Surface assessment

We identify material, age, and condition before picking pressure and chemistry. Pressure-treated pine, cedar, redwood, composite, and vinyl each get a different approach — there's no universal setting.

02

Gentle cleaner application

A wood-safe cleaning solution lifts gray weathering, mildew, and algae without bleaching the grain. Composite decks get a milder chemistry and rely more on mechanical cleaning.

03

Light pressure rinse

Low-pressure rinse following the grain direction — never against it. No splinters, no etching, no zebra-stripe wand marks. Optional brightener neutralizes pH and prepares the wood for stain.

Before you stain

The best stain job starts with the cleaning.

Prepping a deck for stain or seal is one of our most common calls. We clean the wood, apply a wood brightener to neutralize pH, then let the deck dry a full 48 hours in dry weather (below 15% moisture content is ideal) before the stain goes on. Cleaning plus brightening dramatically improves stain penetration and longevity — a good prep can double how long your stain looks fresh.

We don't stain or seal ourselves. We focus on cleaning and prep, and we're happy to recommend trusted local stain contractors once we're done. For fencing, we clean both sides when accessible; picket, privacy, split-rail, and vinyl all get the same careful treatment. For composite decks (Trex, TimberTech, Fiberon), we skip harsh chemistry and rely on gentle, even pressure.
